My Eyes Have Seen The King ♥

Paul and I lead the middle school ministry at our Church, and in the beginning of February the middle schoolers joined the high schoolers at Winter Camp. Camps are always awesome, but we were EXTRA excited this year. You see, our former youth pastor, Kempton Turner, was the speaker! We were so excited to here what God was going to say through him, and of course to catch up a little!

Oh, before I forget, Caryn, Kempton had a picture of Carysse on his jump drive that was to die for! You must post it on your blog, (remember I was without internet over a month so forgive me if you already posted it... BUT it was soooo cute that it would be worth posting again)! :)

Anyway, here are some memorable lessons from camp:

It was over Isaiah 6:1-13

  • "Gnats and Demons": Jesus commanded the gnats to swarm in the plagues, and they obeyed, (Exodus 8: 16-19). He commanded the water to hold Him when He walked on it, and it obeyed, (Matthew 14:22-31). He commanded demons to leave people, and they obeyed, (Matthew 8:28-33). SO, when He commands me to do something and I disobey, I am "dumber than gnats, and more wicked than demons!" If that is not convicting, I don't know what is...
  • "Everything is nothing!": Kempton was referring to the worldly things that catch our attention too much. In an old sermon of his, Kempton said that one day all that stuff, "is gonna burn!" I really liked that phrase, and the new one too, so I have merged them: "Everything is nothing- it's all gonna burn!" When you, (or I) get caught up in wanting something of this world we really have to step back and see the bigger picture...
  • "Cake Evangelist": Evangelizing is often intimidating, and many people will give the excuse of not having enough training. Well, think of something you really like, cake etc. I'll go with Crocs. If you have seen me in person in the last 2 or so years, you probably saw Crocs on my feet. I LOVE these shoes. They are comfy, long lasting, I can walk through mud and they won't ruin, etc. I can go on and on about them. Now, where is my degree from Crocs University? Oh yeah, I don't have one. I was not trained in Crocs, and yet I can go on and on about them, and I do if they are brought up. WHY NOT GOD? Why is it that we will go on and on about the things we love, and yet we never do with God? So what do you evangelize... sports teams, shoes, clothes, celebrities? We need to be evangelizing the ONE TRUE GOD!
  • Isaiah 6: 9-13. When I read this verse it kinda went in one ear and out the other. Kempton brought light to it for me. Basically, God is telling Isaiah to go and spread the Word about Him, and most people will not listen! WHAT?!? When you do God's work, you are successful, right? WRONG, well, unsuccessful in this world, when we get to Heaven we will be successful. God promises that we will fail in evangelizing more often than not, but we still should. Every time we proclaim Christ, it brings Him glory, and that is why we are all here... to bring Him glory!
Kempton, thank you for the wonderful winter camp sermon... I only wish I could do it justice here. I hope my few bullets will be as helpful to others as they were to me! We love the Turner family! ♥

It's all coming back to me...

Over the last month+ without internet, I have had MANY things to blog about! Here is one, and tomorrow check in for a blog about Winter Camp!

I love Disney, and I love Disney Princesses. This shouldn't be a shocker to you. My favorite Disney movies are Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella are tied for 2nd, and The Little Mermaid. When we were unpacking, I would pop in a Disney tape, and watch a little, turn it off to work, then watch a little more, etc. It was nice because usually if I put on a movie I do not get anything accomplished, but since I have those movies memorized, I could watch 15 min without getting hooked. (Ya know, like when eating lunch or something. We don't have TV, so I can't just flip on something real quick).

ANYWAY, Aladdin has never been one of my favorites, but I like it so I sat down to watch it after years of not seeing it. I loved all the songs, and I was getting into it when I heard, "for allah's sake!" You know like, "for God's sake," only they were trying to be cultural relevant. OK, I can overlook that. Then I heard it, "Praise allah!" UMM, OK, NO! I don't care how cute the movie is, it praises a false god. Even if they were trying to be culturally relevant to the setting, I don't care. I, nor my children, should hear mention of praise to false gods. The only one who deserves our praise is JESUS CHRIST! So, needless to say, we have thrown away Aladdin. I was a little bummed because who doesn't love the song, "A Whole New World?"

Millie Bush Bark Park

My friend, Brooke, and I took our kiddos to the Millie Bush Bark Park. It was a first for me, but I assure you that I will be returning often! I will even bring our future 2 legged children... I would have LOVED this place as a little girl! If you have a four legged baby and want to join me for a play date let me know... it definitely can be arranged!

Jersey would NOT leave my side, even though he was leash-less, so this is the only one of him near other dogs I could get...
Not the greatest pic, but we had to have one. You can kinda see my blonde hair.. the wind made my bangs to s comb over thing, so ignore that!
I was not surprised when he went for this... next time I will be prepared with towels!

We lloked out our back yard and look what we saw...
YEP, 5 COWS!!! I was SO excited!!! Felt like we were in the country! I wanted to go out and pet them, but they ran away! ;)

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAN! It feels good to be back!!! Over the last month+ I have had so many things to blog about, but I had to hold them all in! :(

Today I will just catch you up on some house stuff, and my play date yesterday.

First of all, my matron of honor in my wedding, Elise, is building a house two minutes walking distance from my house.... yeah, we are stoked!!! :)

Also, my book has FINALLY entered production, so be looking for it sometime in August, (maybe sooner... you know I will keep you posted)! :)

Here is Jersey on the window seat in the kitchen... he looks like such a prissy dog when he sits up here... makes me laugh!
Sitting on the edge of the window seat... Mr. Priss
LOVE the mantle... LOVE EVEN MORE the painting...
I love this grouping... if you notice we all have the same "pure joy" expression on our faces... do you know why? Cause we all find our truest joy in Jesus, (get it, we're all under the painting). The people in the middle picture are not "officially family" but as believers in Christ this family IS my family!!! Check out their family blog, and YOU WILL be blessed... I promise! :) I just love that picture of the two of them... especially little C's face!!!
Here is a panoramic shot of our back yard... it is kinda pie shaped, so I am standing on the "tip" of the pie.
Look closely... since the dumb builders didn't water our grass for the whole month it was down, it didn't take properly, so Jersey learned how to dig holes... yes holes plural...

See that white spot at the top of the (unfilled) lake, yep that's Jersey... he can fit under the fence... yeah, not happy about that one!
The next two pics are of a piece of furniture my mom gave us...
I grew up with this thing...
We painted it and gave it new hardware...

The finished product... I LOVE it... my first time to use a sander and spray paint... it was fun! :)
Here is a pic of our entry way... I LOVE IT! Just as I imagined. We took two pieces of extra wood from the house and made them into the cross, and I bought the crown, (it is an actual crown of thorns).
My first try at decoupaging... I LOVE IT... knew I would. This piece was white with see through glass. I covered the white with toille (spelling help here) tissue paper, the glass with maroon tissue paper, and princesses.
Here is a mirror I decoupaged next... with the same toille tissue paper...
Finished product...
Close up... so pretty, I LOVE IT!

Yesterday, I got to spend the morning with my little JuJu. I had so much fun! Enjoy her precious little face!
I LOVE THIS PIC! We were walking to the park and I looked down and saw this... I had to stop and get a pic!!! I LOVE JU JU, but I REALLY can't wait until that little hand I am holding is my own little girl's! (no news on that front fyi)!
Isn't she precious...
LOVE this one... she is soooo cute!!!
This one turned out great, unfortunately it was out of focus...
CHEESEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Sweet baby!
Cutie Patootie!
I like this one... she looks like a big girl here...
