Odds and Ends

I hate not having time to blog!!! Here is a list of the odds and ends going on at the Keierleber home.

1. I heard from my illustrator today!!!!!!!! I will get a call from her tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!! YEA!!!

2. My friend Elise is officially my neighbor!!! She closed today! She lives a whopping minute walk from my house! I AM SOOO EXCITED!!!

3. My aunt Jody found out today she is having a GIRL! YEA!

4. Jersey has been sleeping in a kennel that is for a mastiff, and he loves it! We will be getting one for him soon, (not quite as big, but bigger than the one he has now! Thanks Mudge)!

5. We are dog sitting for our friends- introducing Annie:
6. Ever since I was a little girl I have loved frogs...

A couple of weeks ago I found these guys in the grass- how cute are they? (ignore my gross hand)

THEN, last night I went to let out the dogs, and found this guy:
He is humongous!!! Paul tried to catch him so y'all could see how big he really was, but no luck.
Picture does him no justice! He was the biggest frog I have ever seen!!!

Oh yeah, and my title of "Bored Gourd" in my last post was a reference to Veggie Tales. Mr. Lunt is a gourd, and in the trailer of "The Pirates that don't do anything," it says, "A sour grape, and bored gourd, and a cucumber that wants to be cool..."

Have a great week!!! ~TK

Bored Gourd

10 points to the person who understands my title! ;)

Anywhoo...

I am bored right now, waiting for the hubs to get home!!! T minus 2 hours!!!

Last night I saw Annie, and my friend Esther did the best Miss. Hannigan I have seen since Carol Burnett! Seriously, E, I am not just saying that cause you are my friend! I was VERY impressed with your perfomance! :) People tend to over act Hannigan- you weren't acting at all- you were her!!!

So, guess what we get to pick up in a couple of hours...

OUR DINING ROOM TABLE!!!!! Check back later to see pictures!!!!!

Ok, so how is that for a random post? ;) To finish, I will add a random (new) picture! :) My friend Krisitina just moved to Italy and will be getting married there in Dec, and will be having another wedding here next June. Here were are a David's Bridal- she tried on THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DRESS! With so many people I know getting married- I have had yet to see its equal!!!

What If?

As most of you probably know, whether or not you are a viewer, Jon and Kate have a big announcement tonight. I am praying it is that they are quitting the show to heal their relationship, but I fear it will be about divorce. :( Join me in praying for them today. Go to my other blog to read more...

Paul is half Korean like Jon, and I am Caucasian like Kate- so I would like you to see what my kids could look like if God decides to bless us with birth children! ;) My mom always says that when she watches the show she says that she is watching her grand kids. :)

Words from our President about Fathers

You may have noticed that I am not our president's biggest fan. However, I can't help but appreciate the work he does at trying to keep/get fathers involved in their children's lives. Fathers are a vital necessity to growing happy and healthy kids.

Now, considering I do support his stance on fathers, I want you to read the quote below... really read it and see where he shoots himself in the foot:

Father's Day
2007: "Let's admit to ourselves that there are a lot of men out there that need to stop acting like boys; who need to realize that responsibility does not end at conception; who need to know that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child but the courage to raise a child."

Did you see it?

Let me help you out:
responsibility does not end at conception

Couldn't be more true, but does it not go against his stance on abortion? Much of the abortion debate is when life begins. Life begins at CONCEPTION, although some will argue that it is not until birth. I am not attempting to start an argument today. All I am saying is that President Obama is basically saying here that at conception one becomes a father, but you must do more to be a dad. TOTALLY AGREE! BUT he is also saying that life begins at conception because how can one be a father to something that doesn't exist. Am I right?

I will get off my soap box now.

Happy Father's Day to you, Mr. President! Thanks for fighting for our families- I just wish you would fight for the unborn too, (well and a few other family issues that I won't mention just now). :)

2 Book Updates

First of all: My children's book is on its way to the illustrator as we speak! I cannot wait to see what they come up with, and to see my little girl come to life! ;)

Secondly: Thank you all so much for voting on my novel. The turn out was far bigger than I expected, and I truly appreciate it! However, I think the poll may have been useless- SORRY! You see, I was talking it over with my friend and she thought I should make her older. You see, she will be spending the summer in Greece, and spending a lot of time exploring and getting into "trouble" all by herself. Would you let your 13 year old do that? No. So I have decided to make her 18. Now it is set in one summer, so if I do a follow up, I can set it in her first semester of college, etc, so her older age is no issue for a sequel. :) I still may do another series if this one goes well starring her little sister.? We shall see. :)

My inspiration for my novel:

You have to enlarge this...just click on the above pic... we were driving... look as far as you can and all you will see is land. AMAZING!

Struggle

I WANT TO BE A MOMMY NOW!!!!!!

I know it is God's timing and when we get our babies it will be in His will, but I am sick of waiting. Well, I guess I am just struggling right now. It comes and goes.

Last week I thought for sure I was pregnant.

Before I go on let me clarify something for newer readers: I CAN have kids, but we are choosing not to. God has led us to adopt. HOWEVER, if God decides to impregnate me, then we will be more than thrilled- we are just leaving that up to Him and we are not trying to get pregnant. Also, the adoption is on hold, but if someone came tomorrow and wanted to give up their child, I would say YES! Once again, we are just waiting on the Lord, and leaving it all up to Him.

As I was saying, last week I thought for sure I was pregnant. While we are not trying, we are also not preventing, so a pregnancy would be very possible. Not to go into too many details, but I was late, very nauseous, and, (for the first time), had tender breasts. Oh, too much info? Sorry, but I had to show you how strong my symptoms were. Anyway, I am not pregnant as I am sure you assumed.

Of course I was a little disappointed. Paul of course was too. I didn't want him in the room when I took the tests- yes multiple- cause I did not want the pressure of seeing his mounting excitement. Too much for me.

Now, don't get me wrong. I am 100million% okay with not having birth children. BUT when I experience all the symptoms, you bet I am going to get excited and start daydreaming.

However, this is not my struggle right now. It is not the lack of pregnancy that is bumming me out. It is the lack of my child. I just am struggling with the waiting- regardless of the means by which I get my babies.

Please pray for me. I want to be joyful to glorify the Lord during this time He has called me to wait. I know He wants joy from me. I want to give it to Him!

Everyone always tells me to wait to have kids and just enjoy being married. Well, I very much enjoy being married- that is why I want you to pray for joy. Since this is our last "hoorah" without kids, I want us to spend our time wisely, and not me being sulky, dreaming about the future, ya know? Like when we were engaged, I didn't live at that time- all I wanted was time to fly so the wedding would come qucikly.

I DO NOT want time to fly now. While I do want it to so I can be a mommy, I also don't want it to cause time is so short anyway! I want to enjoy life with just Paul and me, and not spend it dreaming about the future- ya know?

Thanks for your prayers and support!

Once again, the soundtrack of my heart:

el bano

FINALLY I have completed our bathroom! I LOVE IT!!! I would go into detail about the theme, but I think it is pretty obvious! :)
The full view around my bathtub...
The Keierlebers in Bluebonnets... (the pic of Jersey alone was from a year ago, the other was taken a few months ago).My sister and me, Jersey and a field taken during our 2 year anniversary. (I know there is a pic of all 4 of us kids, so I need it to replace the pic of the 2 of us) :)

A pic I took on our 2 year anniversary. I am a firm believer in decorating with photography. Why pay for a piece of art, when you can do it yourself? :)
The completed "throne room." I didn't like calling it the toilet room, so throne room will have to do! lol
Another pic of us by Steven Leonard, and a pic I got from our 2nd anniversary. Isn't decorating with photography awesome?

Animal House

My mom is out of town and asked me to watch her dogs. They are all having so much fun!!! Jersey is usually scared of Belle, (the littlest), at her house, but here they play all day together! I walked them all to the mailbox, and after talking to a neighbor and getting hot, this is how they cooled off. Total photo op!

The girls came with 4 of these bones in their kennel. When the girls were lounging on the couch, Jersey proceeded to take all 4 of them out and keep them all to himself! I did not teach my boy to be selfish! ugh! ;)

Here is the pic I mentioned a couple of posts back! :)

SO, I got my FINAL EDITS on my book today!!! Next up- DESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooo excited!!!

Poll for my novel

I am working on my first novel, and I think it has great potential! It is written for kids, but can be greatly enjoyed by adults (like Narnia and Harry Potter).

Right now my main character is a girl, age 13. I would like your opinion on what age you would prefer to see her. At first I thought, "Would adults really like to read a book about a 13 year old?" Then I realized that I, (along with millions of others), greatly enjoy Harry Potter, who at the beginning of the series is a mere 11 years old.

The books is set in Greece, and is somewhat of an adventure novel. She meets a boy that is a friend-only a friend- not a love interest in anyway. The reason I am telling you this is because she does not necessarily have to be older, (if love was involved, then age would really matter).

So what age would you prefer her to be- 13, 16, or do you have another suggestion? My poll is on the top right of my blog and will close the evening of June 18.

Thanks! ♥ TK

250

Today is my 250th blog post! Wahoo!!! :)

Yesterday I cut and highlighted my hair. I know- I need pics. Guess how much I paid.... $50!!! Yep at Visible Changes I paid $42 for a haircut alone, and yesterday I paid $50 for cut and highlights!!! WOW! I don't remember the name of the place, but I know where it is, so let me know if you want to check it out too!!!

Anyway, I have a few more graduation pics for ya...I look like a doof- Middle of the hug, see camera, give funky smile. Yep, apparently that is how I roll. Look at my brother though- I love it!!!
Guess what my dad is saying to us- he quit smoking! YEA!!!! Praise the Lord! Prayers would be appreciated for his long road ahead!
Yesterday on our run, we spotted this little guy. Don't know what kind he is- other than he is poisonous. "Red and black, friend of Jack. Red and Yellow, kill a fellow." Yikes! It was about 7 AM, (so not too much sunlight) and I took this with my camera phone. In real life its colors were actually very pretty. Oh, and the only reason I got close was because I saw its guts out so I knew it was dead! lol

Pacified

This is my 249th post, so my next post will be 250th!!! Ok that was obvious, but seeing as I forgot to blog about my 200th, I don't want to forget 250! lol I am trying to think of something special... we shall see tomorrow...

Anyway, we were all pacified, and now our waiting is done. Well, I will probably have more later, but at least we have a few more today! :)

My brother, the grad, and me. A little too much noise in this picture... and other issues in the others too- Mom, I need to see the settings on your camera! No worries though! :) The hubs and me. Like the bright reflection on my face? Oh well! lol Oh, and I have always wanted to get a full length dress, but I have REALLY high hips, so they always looked weird on me. This one actually looked decent! I should have gotten a full shot of it- this is good enough though! :)

Tricia, Dad, Nick and Taylor. Taylor has two more years then all 4 of us kids will have graduated high school!!! I can't believe it!!! (ignore my arm here... looks funky and fat)

My brother's girlfriend's mom was taking a picture of us, and my mom caught this one. Thanks Mom, but I am interested to see how well it turned out by Mrs. Ollre- since we are looking at her! :)

I just love Jimmy Fallon, and who didn't love Zach Morris? Well, last night they hung out. You have to check out this funny clip from Jimmy's show: click here!
I am babysitting and I am watching 2 12 year old boys showing off lame basketball "skills" by trying to beat 2 kindergarteners. I am not impressed. Duh- lol

My cousin, Lauren, and me. She is not the grad previously mentioned- she is her sister. Check out my hubs hammin' it up in the background... nice. lol

Gentle Giant

Yesterday I heard a knock at the door. Our builder found our neighbor's dog, Daphne, running around. He asked if I could get her for him. I drug her from my house to theirs', then she stopped at the front door. She laid down with her tail between her legs. She DID NOT want to go into the back yard again! After a good 5 minutes or so of coaxing and dragging, I got her into OUR backyard. Since it was so hot, I HAD to let her in! Jersey and Daphne had a blast together. Once Daphne cooled down, she wanted to play so we went OUTSIDE... look at the size of her! She is NOT going to be running in my house... for her safety and the house's! lol

Play with me Jersey!!! Jersey had already had enough! She was a little to rough for him at times! :/
The chase is on. I put the sprinkler on for them to play with! Jersey LOVED it! He is so my water bug! He sure can run fast too!

Jersey enjoyed his time with his girlfriend... they had never really gotten to play together until yesterday!

One more thing...

I kept wanting something for the walls beside my curtains. Yesterday my mom and I went shopping, and we found these....

Kinda hard to see obviously, but I wanted y'all to see the whole look. Below are some close-ups.
"In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence." Ephesians 3:12
I have seen this for awhile and I liked it. It reminded me of this verse: "Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." Ephesians 6:11

Isn't it cool that both pieces are from Ephesians?! I didn't know that the armor verse was in Ephesians when I bought it- I think it is pretty cool!

Be Our Guest

Paul and I FINALLY have purchased our dining room table! We will not have it until mid July, but when it comes in, you are invited to dinner! :)

This picture seats six, but we bought 8 chairs- we will be using the leaf! :)
Our dining room is beautified, but lonely. The room is sad- waiting is not easy! ;)

My Thomas Kincade knockoff... I bought this, but before the table and everything else in the room... luckily it works perfectly! :)
I couldn't decide what to do with this wall. Then I thought about those rub on letters. THEN I thought that I could give it a try myself so I did...
It wasn't terrible, but I wasn't 100%happy. Then I went to Michael's yesterday, and I found this painting. I love it!!! I bought the frames on the side to put Bible verses about flowers in it... then I got REALLY excited! You see, Matthew 6 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. In that chapter, Jesus says to look at the Lilies. If God cares for them, won't He care for us? One of my favorite verses!!! I looked down at the painting, and then I realized the pictures were of Lilies!!! :)
